What is Cubic Zirconia?

Cubic Zirconia is often referred to as artificial diamond or synthetic diamond and is a beautiful gemstone that is similar to the diamond with incredible luster that is available in many different colors. Cubic zirconia are common to use in jewellery as they are very similar to real diamonds but not as expensive. Many are mistaken for cubic zirconia to be rhinestones (glass) instead of the beautiful gemstone it really is. Most often you shorten cubic zircon as CZ in jewellery descriptions.

A genuine diamond has hardness 10 on the Mohs scale while Cubic Zirconia has 8. It is usually called Cubic zirconia stones for "Faux Diamonds". With CZ you avoid breaks, inclusions and other marks that genuine diamonds can have.
